The
Pig
Roast
Slow Roasted Over Charcoal · Never Pre-Cooked
"We don't bring a cooked pig to your party.
We bring the experience
of watching it cook."
There is a real difference between hiring a caterer and booking a hog roast. When Chef Christopher sets up the roaster at your event, your guests see the whole process. The smell of charcoal. The crackle of the fire. A whole pig slowly turning golden over hours. It becomes the centerpiece of your celebration long before a single plate is carved.
How It Works
01 The Day Before — We Set Up the Roaster
Our team arrives the day before your event to unload the roaster, set up the cooking area, and have everything ready to go. You wake up on event day knowing it is already handled.
02 Event Morning — Raw Pig Goes On Over Charcoal
We arrive early, load the raw pig onto the roaster, and light the charcoal. From this moment it cooks low and slow for six to twelve hours, depending on the size of the animal and your guest count.
03 During Your Event — Your Guests Watch It Happen
As guests arrive, the roast is already in full swing. The sight, the smell, the whole thing becomes part of the celebration. Not just food. Entertainment and a feast combined.
04 Time to Eat — Fresh Carved at the Station
When the pig is ready, Chef Christopher carves it fresh at a dedicated on-site carving station. Everything is served hot alongside all the included sides. Then we clean up and leave without a trace.

How Does Pricing Work?
The base price starts at $2,750. That covers the full experience: Chef Chris and assistant, day-before roaster setup, all charcoal and cooking fuel, the live roast, the carving station, all ten sides, serving equipment, disposable serviceware, full setup and breakdown, and travel within the service area. On top of that, you pay the current market price of the pig, which is based on the size needed for your headcount. A recent example: an 87 lb pig was approximately $495 in May 2026. Custom quotes are available for all events and any add-ons.
How Far in Advance Do I Need to Book?
As early as possible. Summer weekends and holiday dates fill up fast, and sourcing a whole pig requires advance planning with our butcher. We recommend reaching out at least three to four weeks before your event, and even further out for peak summer dates or large gatherings. Check the booking calendar to see what is open.
What Size Pig Do I Need for My Guest Count?
A rough estimate is roughly one pound of whole pig per guest when accounting for cooking yield. But the actual size depends on how heavily the pig is featured versus other food at your event. We will advise you on the right size during the booking process. All pig sourcing is handled by us directly.
Is My Outdoor Space Big Enough?
In most cases, yes. The roaster needs a stable outdoor area with adequate clearance on all sides. A backyard, patio, driveway, or outdoor venue space typically all work. We review your setup during the booking process and confirm before your event. Any permits or venue rules are the responsibility of the host.
What Events Is a Pig Roast Right For?
Backyard parties, graduation parties, birthday celebrations, weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, bachelor and bachelorette parties, summer cookouts, and really any occasion where you want the meal to be a genuine moment. If you have an outdoor space and a crowd, the hog roast works. It is especially good for events where people love to gather, talk, and enjoy something memorable together.
Where Do You Serve?
We serve all of Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk Counties), New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens), and the Hamptons. For events outside this area, reach out directly at loomeatery@gmail.com and we will let you know if we can make it work.
What Makes This Different From Regular BBQ Catering?
Most catering companies cook the food at a commissary kitchen and deliver it to you already done. We roast the whole pig raw, at your event, over charcoal, in front of your guests. The roast itself becomes part of the experience. People gather around it. They watch it all day. By the time the carving starts, everyone is already invested. You cannot replicate that with a heated van and sheet pans.
What Add-Ons Are Available?
Popular add-ons include a raw bar, lobster rolls, smoked brisket, shrimp cocktail, porterhouse steaks, a charcuterie board, caviar and potatoes, an ice cream sundae bar, professional wait staff, and a whole roasted tenderloin. Everything is quoted individually based on your guest count and preferences. Just let us know when you reach out.
